Jim Butler is the general manager for Microsoft's Greater China Communications Sector business. He manages the sales and marketing organization that calls on telecommunications, hosting, and media and entertainment companies in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. He has been in China since 2006.
Jim has spent 16 years at Microsoft, first joining as a re-seller account manager, and has spent more than 13 years working with service providers in Microsoft's Internet Customer Unit (ICU), Network Solutions Group (NSG), and Network Service Provider (NSP) group. Prior to Microsoft, Jim spent 10 years in the computer re-seller industry, holding senior sales and business development positions with Businessland and ComputerLand.
Jim's expertise is in the area of software hosted services aimed toward small and medium businesses. He has years of experience helping telcos and hosters develop world-class go-to-market plans for driving top-line revenue and marketshare.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.
