Jose Collazo has been a major contributor to the development of global, value-added data communication services, making BT Infonet a recognized leader in the market of deploying network-based critical applications.
In 1988, Jose was elected chairman of the board, president, and CEO of Infonet Services Corp., overseeing in 1999 the company's NYSE IPO - the second-largest US telecom IPO. In February 2005, Infonet was acquired by BT Group. During the last 25 years, Jose has been a member of the board of directors in a variety of companies around the world. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific and Pepperdine University.
Jose was the 2002 recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and in 1999 was awarded the Outstanding Alumni Award by Pepperdine University.
A US citizen by birth, Jose has lived in numerous countries and is fluent in Italian, Spanish, and conversational French. He has earned a BS degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Northrop University and an MBA from Pepperdine University, and is a graduate of Stanford University's Graduate School of Business and Management Executive Program.
