Frank Catalano is an executive-level marketing, product, and brand strategy consultant; an author; and a veteran media commentator.
As a consultant, Frank works with a wide variety of companies, primarily in education and consumer technology, ranging in size and scope from startup to global. He has developed creative and practical strategies for new initiatives on both a project and interim executive basis. His clients have included Apple, Pearson, McGraw-Hill, MetaMetrics, Corbis, Rick Steves' Europe Though the Back Door, the Toy Industry Assoc., and many others.
Frank previously spent four years as senior vice president of marketing for Pearson's U.S. assessment and K-12 education businesses. He also held marketing positions at Egghead Software, the Apple Programmers and Developers Assoc., and other technology-related firms.
As a writer and broadcaster, Frank co-authored two of the "Dummies" books on marketing, had regular columns of technology industry commentary in several publications, and appeared on KCPQ-TV 13 Seattle as the station's technology analyst for four years. He worked for more than a dozen years as a radio and TV news director, reporter, and anchor, and wrote fiction for magazines. He's a former officer of the Science Fiction Writers of America.
Currently, Frank serves on the boards of two arts nonprofits: the Washington Alliance for Arts Education (http://artsedwashington.org) and Wing-It Productions (www.wingitpresents.com), as well as on the board of the Education Division of the Software and Information Industry Association. Earlier, he served on the boards of Boxer Learning and LessonLab.
