As director of Sales and Marketing for one of the U.K.'s leading wireless and cellular integrators, CDS, Malcolm McGougan has spent the last six months redefining its comprehensive portfolio of consultancy; design and implementation; and service, test, and measurement solutions.
CDS has specific skills in high-end consultancy on all types of wireless solutions, including health and safety and strategy. It has developed unique tools for the technology independent design of wireless systems for all types of buildings and open spaces. Coupled with a comprehensive implementation and field testing capability, it offers a complete wireless proposition. Clients include BAA, Ofcom, and BT.
Prior to CDS, Malcolm spent three years at Redstone plc as product development director. Areas of particular skill and expertise include intelligent building solutions (SmartB) that enable landlords to derive revenues from providing information systems as a fourth utility, and "away from the office" solutions, in which a truly integrated approach to global and home-based work and effective communications reduces corporate outgoings.
Malcolm also designed and implemented a Metropolitan Area Network in Cambridge, U.K., where advanced IP added-value solutions are being rolled out to the city's business community.
Prior to Redstone, Malcolm was a founding director of Fastnet Systems, an IP integrator acquired by Redstone in August 2000. Over 12 years prior to that, Malcolm held senior sales and marketing roles with 3Com Corporation and open-systems house Digitus.
Malcolm studied engineering at Cambridge. He enjoys sailing on the east coast of the U.K. and skiing.
