James Fazio will complete his MBA at Thunderbird School of Global Management - ranked the #1 U.S. Business School for International Business by the Wall Street Journal and U.S. News and World Report - in April 2011. He is focusing his studies on business strategy and marketing, and has been selected to participate in Leadership EDGE, a Thunderbird program which identifies and develops an elite group of high-potential MBA candidates for experiential leadership and growth opportunities.
James spent this past fall working with Transnational Investments Inc. as a consulting intern, helping a small utility company identify emerging revenue streams for the electric-car market and developing a business recommendation based on the market analysis conducted.
James recently helped found a Web-based startup, virtualgoodybags.com, which produces environmentally friendly marketing solutions for athletic and conference events that return higher ROI and detailed analytics for event sponsors. This spring, he organized and led a program to develop Thunderbird student knowledge of clean technology through onsite company visits and practitioner networking.
Prior to Thunderbird, James worked for six years in medical-device technology and new product development, including drug elution and immobilized bioactive coatings development, at W L Gore & Associates.
Before beginning his career in the medical-device industry, James received a Master of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics and a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Chemistry, both from Virginia Tech. James is an avid runner, cyclist, and Ironman triathlete.
