Jason Knapp is a B2B & B2C technology senior product and operations executive currently involved in several exciting startups related to sourcing and insurance automation, consumer data, visual processing, and peer-to-peer marketplaces. He co-chairs the selection committee of the EvoNexus incubator and is active in Tech Coast Angels.
Jason co-founded Strategic Data Corp., which was acquired by News Corp. and is now part of the Rubicon Project. There he created the first sophisticated online advertising monetization platform and invented Real-Time-Bidding, which powers more than $18 billion in annual digital ad spend across Google, Oath/Verizon, etc.
Jason was chief product officer at Viant Technology, where his responsibilities included overseeing product, technology, and operations for the relaunch of Myspace with Justin Timberlake in 2012, growing it back to over 50 million monthly unique users from fewer than 15 million, and helping get Viant acquired by Time Inc. He has extensive marketing technology and consumer data platform leadership experience, with major projects at Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Microsoft, Citibank, Bank of America, and Comcast.
Jason is also active on the boards of Casas de Luz, which builds homes for working-class families in Tijuana; and AFICE, a foreign-exchange program. He lives the good life near San Diego with his wife, a cognitive scientist at UCSD, and their two amazing teenaged children.
