Scott Messer, a Los Angeles native, is currently exploring new venture opportunities with Criterion Capital Partners (CCP), a merchant bank that invests capital and resources into micro and small-cap businesses across the world. From Bebo.com, the world's fifth-largest social network and media companies, to consumer packaged goods and a variety of restaurant chains, CCP retains an ownership position in a variety of innovative companies across different industries. In the role of director, business development, Scott provides investment oversight and new business development and acts as a strategic advisor to portfolio companies.
From JPMorgan Chase and Fox Searchlight to National Lampoon and IMG Media, Scott has extensive practice advising companies in the fields of investment strategy, project development, branded advertising, corporate naming rights, talent relations, and business partnerships. He has led the charge on several successful, cutting-edge multi-platform media strategies and overseen major advertising accounts in entertainment, armed forces, QSR, and CPG verticals.
Scott holds a BA in English Studies from Emory University and an MBA focused in entrepreneurship and the business of creative industries from USC's Marshall School of Business. He retains executive producer credits on thousands of hours of short-form, high-definition comedy and a producer credit on a feature film, Urban Legends: Bloody Mary (2004v).
