Dan Lamont
FiRe Event Photographer,Dan Lamont is executive producer and creative director of Tatoosh Media (www.tatooshmedia.com) and filmmaker and photojournalist of counsel for Pyramid Communications (www.pyramidcommunications.com), a nationally recognized firm supporting the cause-driven communications for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, among others.
Dan spent 35 years as an editorial photojournalist working internationally for Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, the Smithsonian, Audubon, BusinessWeek, Forbes, Fortune, Stern, Der Spiegel, GEO, Paris Match, LeMonde, and many other publications.
Dan is president of the Blue Earth Alliance (www.blueearth.org), which supports documentary storytelling on environmental and social issues. He has organized and taught courses, workshops, and professional seminars for the University of Washington, the Art Institute of Seattle, the Langley Center for New Media, Ecotrust, the Society for Photographic Education, and the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association, among others.
Dan holds a Master of Communication degree in digital media from the University of Washington. In 2010 he was a Journalism Fellow in the Seattle University Family Homelessness Project, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. His personal website is www.danlamont.com.
