Joel Montgomery has worked in 25 countries, lived in five, and speaks three languages. As a newly minted graduate, he was in charge of a sales territory of over 30 countries in Latin America, although he eventually grew restless with the sole focus on the bottom line. In order to explore ways of combining his loves for business and social impact, Joel turned his attention toward the world of social enterprise. As a 2009 Acumen Fund Fellow, Joel traveled to Pakistan to help a startup irrigation company better serve the needs of poor farmers. His adventures in Pakistan were captured in the 2010 PBS documentary The New Recruits. Now as the director of International Expansion for Endeavor, Joel is helping transform the entrepreneurial ecosystems in growth markets, all the while creating jobs, generating wealth, and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs. Joel has an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BS from Yale University.
