Founder and CEO, Magnet Systems

Alfred Chuang is the founder and CEO of Magnet Systems Inc. (www.magnet.com), a next-generation enterprise software company. Powered by a cloud-based modern technology platform, Magnet's social business software offerings are focused on providing users a natural and intelligent experience.

Magnet's first application, Sales WIN (Workplace Interaction Network), is designed to help sales professionals win more deals, faster. Sales WIN tracks, organizes, and prioritizes sales activities during team and client interactions and collaboration.

Alfred was a founder of BEA Systems Inc., the acknowledged industry-leading provider of enterprise infrastructure middleware products. During his tenure there, he managed just about every aspect of the company before becoming CEO in 2001. Alfred also became BEA's chairman of the board, a position in which he remained until the company was sold to Oracle in 2008 for $8.5 billion.

Prior to BEA, Alfred also worked at Sun Microsystems Inc., where he held management positions in software product development, systems architecture, and operations management for over nine years.

Alfred's notable awards include C/F Silicon Valley Philanthropist of the Year and SD Forum Visionary Award (2003), CIO Magazine 20/20 Vision Award Honoree and Community Star from Asian Americans for Community Involvement (2002), eChina Forum Silicon Valley Award Honoree (2001), and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist (1998).

Alfred received a BS in Computer Science from the University of San Francisco and a master's degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis.
