I had the questionable fortune of spending a couple of days with about 137,000 geeklike men of indeterminate age last week, and perhaps 1,500 post-teen slim blonde models. Yes, I went to the Consumer Electronics Show, the largest Las Vegas conference of the year.

 

I am assuming that our members have already read all of the PR releases and gadget sheets, and seen the breathless CNET reports live from the floor.

 

It was a weird feeling, wandering past almost every exhibit in two long days: as the person who has been trumpeting the coming of the CarryAlong format for over a decade, this was it. The CES this year – or the largest part of it – should have been named The CarryAlong Electronics Show.
