I.       SNS Members and Terrorism: A Personal View

When the first plane hit, I was in Washington, D.C., on the phone to my friend Steve Waite in New York City. "Wait," he interjected, "wait there's something happening. It looks like a plane just crashed into the World Trade Center!"

I turned on the television and saw the live coverage. I was due in 15 minutes for a meeting with about 30 U.S. senators to argue for a new national broadband policy, so I headed out the door.
