» The Trends Driving FiRe X: Part II

 

In the first part of this discussion, I looked at the trends behind the opening session conversations at this year's Future in Review Conference. In general, these perform the task of bringing participants up to date (i.e., with a 3- to 5-year look forward) in the key thread areas of computers and communications, of IP driving the world economy, and of synthetic life.

In addition to what we're covering in this issue, I'll just note that we are going to be making a number of new conference and corporate announcements during FiRe, and giving out awards and naming important contributors in the worlds of technology and economics. We'll also be launching at least five major new programs and initiatives from the floor; on the Agenda, those sessions are highlighted in blue.
