The Christmas Quarter

In most years, I write about Q4 a bit earlier. After all, it is the most important quarter to those in technology, and to those watching the general economy. But this year was an election year in the U.S., so I took a pass until that was complete.

There are several important aspects of this Q4 which are different from past years, and I will highlight these as we go along. For this purpose, I will start with the basic landscape in both technology and the economy, and then move to the more unexpected features of that terrain.
