Publisher's Note:  It has taken the scientific community a long time to move from its old, and insufficient, models of human biology and health to the knowledge we have today. While the institutions around us remain in a spectrum of time delays from this state of knowledge back to the 1950s, there are many new companies and scientists doing their best to move us into the 21st century.
