Publisher's Note: I carry the hope that all of our SNS Special Letters offer insights that are real and that can be monetized for our members. Special Letter:

Modern Development Organization Management:
   Embracing Uncertainty

By Walter Bodwell, Murray Cantor, John Heintz, and Steve Sherman

The increasing competition and complexity of today's business climate, coupled with the speed of change, require us to make decisions that are both well-reasoned and fast, even if we're lacking a complete set of information, and when it's no longer competitive to apply a "gut feeling" to the complex and uncertain problems we face today.

Fortunately, we can apply AI, visualization, and instrumentation techniques to support those decisions. We can adopt automation assistance to effectively manage our development organizations and improve our odds of success - with more confidence, less drama, and no regrets.

[Note: For the purposes of this letter, development organization describes an organization, or a group within an organization, that does software development, R&D, etc.]
