Tiago Ferraz

FiRe/Rodel Foundations Intern, Thunderbird School of Global Management

Tiago Ferraz is an MBA candidate at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, with a focus in Global Management, and will graduate in May 2014. Tiago is pursuing a career in general management with a focus in strategy and operations, targeting the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.

Before Thunderbird, Tiago earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Management from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, where he also co-founded a Junior Enterprise - a nonprofit consulting firm formed and run by students. Professionally, Tiago has five years of work experience, primarily for multinational companies, serving in a wide range of functions: marketing, finance, consulting, operations, and sales support. Most notably, Tiago worked as an operations manager for a Belgian multinational company in Athens, Greece. This past summer, Tiago was involved in the Salta program from "Thunderbird for Good" in Peru, supporting women entrepreneurs by helping them develop and scale their businesses.

At Thunderbird, Tiago has taken on many leadership roles on campus, including peer career advisor, campus ambassador, Thunderbird student government alumni relations chair, and president of the European Culture and Business Club. Most recently, Tiago won "Clash of the Consultants," a consulting team case competition sponsored by KPMG.

True to Thunderbird form, Tiago has lived in five countries across two continents. He speaks three languages - Portuguese, English, and Spanish - and has a basic understanding of Greek, French, and Italian.
