Steve Coy is the CEO and CTO of TimeLike Systems, a small US-based software company developing a first-of-its-kind, component-based software platform called “TimeLike.” TimeLike is designed to support what Steve calls “model-based everything.” This includes:

• General purpose modeling and simulation
• Model-based engineering
• Model-based DevOps
• Model-based decision support for human decision-makers
• Automated, model-based decision-making for autonomous systems

Before founding TimeLike Systems in 2011, Steve was a co-founder and the principal scientist of MZA Associates Corp., a small company specializing in modeling, simulation, analysis, and design of advanced optical systems. While at MZA, Steve led the development of WaveTrain™, a component-based software tool designed to support high-fidelity, physics-based modeling and simulation of certain classes of advanced optical systems, such as laser weapons systems. WaveTrain swiftly became a de facto industry standard within the US laser weapons R&D community, and it is still in use today.
