Over the last 20 years, it has been the privilege and passion of Derek Harp, CEO of the Control Systems Cyber Security Assoc. International (CS2AI), to start, fund, and run companies, sharing his experience with others along the way. It has always been very personally satisfying to help business owners, executives, startup founders, and students to improve their entrepreneurial plans, businesses, outlooks, or strategies.

Derek's career has had a frequent focus on cybersecurity. Going back to his time as an officer in the US Navy, where he was introduced to communications security, management, and intelligence; to co-inventing Intellishield^™, a pioneer IT security product later acquired by Cisco Systems; to co-founding NexDefense, a software company focused on the specific security needs of industrial control systems (ICS) asset owners.

Derek has enjoyed professionally speaking for many years in keynotes, workshops, and guest lectures on a variety of topics. One of the things he is most proud of is his cyber workforce development efforts through co-founding the GICSP Certification and the nonprofit CS2AI. He has always believed that if we obtain insight, opportunities, and success in life, then we have some duty to give back. It is not one third-party's job (Government, for example) to solve all the cybersecurity problems we face; it is all our collective responsibilities. CS2AI is contributing to the solution by creating opportunities for local peer groups of individuals charged with protecting our most critical cyber to physical systems.
