It, too, was great and I had a chance to talk with people like Sidney Rittenberg, an expert on China.” – Mark Mahan, Founder, MMCO, Redmond, WA

The headlines are full of worry about inflation. A few politicians in the U.S. (and elsewhere) are accusing the Fed of feeding inflationary fires through “QE II,” the extended quantitative easing program. Central bankers around the world seem violently confused, either raising rates fast (China) or continuing near zero.
In this week’s issue, I will try to make some sense of the current state of risk on these questions, while raising a new aspect of the problem that I find much more concerning than these.
