Profile on: WIZ

The Israeli cloud security unicorn that mopped the floor with Google's $23B offer.

Why Read: This week's Global Report explores the technology, leadership, business strategy, and growth potential of Israeli cloud security firm Wiz.

_______

In a tech world that, by and large, seems to have grown weary of unicorns, Israeli cloud- security platform Wiz is a blaring exception.

It has the best UI, is attracting top talent from other teams, now has $350M in annual recurring revenue (ARR) four years in, and raised $1B in its last round.

To adapt a common meme template ...

Nine out of ten cloud people are obsessed with Wiz. The tenth works for Orca.

The people I spoke with about Wiz in preparation for this article developed a sort of stunned look when I mentioned its name. "How do you know about Wiz?" they would ask, like it was a secret password to a private cloud-security club I really shouldn't have known about - despite it being very publicly on its way to an IPO.

Suddenly, they were very interested in the shape of the conversation. Lowering their voices, they'd invariably lean in:. "What do you know about Wiz?"

There's good reason for this intrigue. In only four years, Wiz has had an apocalyptically good growth run (more on that later), addressing a major pain point (entropy & complication) in an extremely high-growth area (cloud security).
